Pharmaceutical Folding Print Finishers
It’s important to have a supplier that can print and fold to sizes and standards of exacting legislation. Pharmaceuticals have tighter regulation on the papers that are used for leaflets which are higher cost than if a leaflet is needed for a non-pharma product. For non-pharma products you may get tempted to buy from a cheap leaflet provider, while this can save a little cash. However, packing machines will struggle with them and having a leaflet not folded correctly.
Do You Need PIL or IFU?
Under TPD regulations, patient information or information for use has to be provided in the UK for all e-liquids containing nicotine. Giving essential information about intended use, dosages and any potential side effects. Folded leaflets are one way of providing this information, so long as they are provided with the bottle. Alternatively you can get a peel and reseal labels, even on 10ml bottles you can fit all the required information.
The e-liquid industry does not need pharmaceutical grade material, so we can use a heavier paper which is cheaper.
Items deemed as medicine must comply with stricter regulations, evidence of which we can provide.
Readability understands the importance and volume of the information. This lets you conform to strict legislation that governs the legibility of these documents.
These leaflets have to use precision folding techniques with some leaflets just 30mm high and wide. Great care must be taken to ensure the legibility of document.

Who Needs PIL Or IFU Leaflet
From May 2017 selling an e-liquid will require a leaflet explaining details to customers. This will mean an added consideration about the packaging of e-liquids that previously only needed to have a label and a box.
